Essendon Football Club Donation Guidelines

The Essendon Football Club (EFC) was established by the community for the community.  It is something the club recognises and with that comes an obligation to play an active role within the community.  As an elite sporting organisation we have the capacity to make a difference on many levels.

The club has worked extremely hard over the past few years to meet that obligation, including the implementation of a formal community strategy.  As part of this strategy, EFC provides support to numerous community and charitable organisations (for further information visit the Community section of the website).

EFC receives hundreds of requests each week for donations such as signed merchandise, match tickets and promotional items.  While the Club endeavours to provide support where it can, unfortunately we are unable to fulfil every worthwhile request due to the volume of requests received.

Signed Items

The Essendon Football Club receives hundreds of requests each month for signed merchandise.  With only a limited number of signed items available each year, requests are not always successful with priority given to major charities and peak community organisations.  Under some circumstances (e.g. limited availability) organisations may be requested to purchase an item for signing.

Match Tickets

A limited numbers of match tickets may be available for some EFC home games.  Please complete and submit a request form outlining which match you wish to attend and how many tickets you require (maximum 10).

Procedure for Donation Requests

  1. EFC will consider all legitimate requests for support.  All requests must be made in writing on the relevant organisation letterhead and be accompanied by a COMPLETED Donation Request Form (can be downloaded below) at least four (4) weeks prior to the event.
  1. If the request is being made on behalf of a registered charity or community organisation with their support, a reference or sanction letter from that organisation must accompany your request.  This may not be necessary if raising funds for an individual.
  1. Requests will be processed taking into consideration their ‘fit’ with EFC’s overall community strategy.  More specifically, priority will be given to:
  • Major charities / community organisations
  • Organisations that encourage youth participation in sport
  • Organisations that promote healthy lifestyle choices among young people
  1. Donation requests must be submitted to: Donations Coordinator, Essendon Football Club, PO Box 17, Essendon 3040, emailed to requests@essendonfc.com.au or faxed to 03 9370 6804.Click here to download the request form

Please note:

  • EFC is not in a position to offer cash donations or sponsorships
  • EFC does not accept personal requests for birthdays, weddings etc
  • Please allow four 2-4 weeks for your request to be processed (4 weeks between October – March)
  • All requests (whether successful of not) will receive notification from the Club within 2-4 weeks of the request
  • EFC does not accept merchandise sent to us for signing without prior acceptance.  Any items received will be returned to the addressee unsigned (EFC will not be responsible for lost items)
  • Members wishing to have personal items signed are encouraged to attend open training sessions held throughout the season where players may be available to sign items where possible.

Due to the high volume of requests received, we are unable to respond to follow-up phone calls or correspondence.
