"Bombers' Bright Futures, one of Essendon Football Club's great initiatives supporting Indigenous careers'

Paddy Ryder, Project Ambassador

Essendon Football Club has partnered with the Victorian Government (Department of Business and Innovation – Indigenous Economic Development) to roll out an exciting new employment project initiative with direct benefits to Melbourne’s North-West Indigenous community.

The Bomber’s Bright Futures project is a feature of the State Government’s Employment Start Up for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Jobseekers program.

Essendon has been identified as a key organisation within the local area, with a rich and proud record of supporting Melbourne’s Indigenous population. The project will see the Bombers play the important role of broker for ongoing training, development and employment opportunities between jobseekers and local industry, club partners and associated networks.

The project will be guided by the club’s newly designed role – the Indigenous Programs Coordinator – who will grow and strengthen the club’s important ties with Indigenous Australia and the club’s key partner organisations.
