A group of children from Rumbalara - an indigenous football/netball club in Shepparton - were treated to a behind the scenes experience at Windy Hill, as part of the Essendon Football Club’s On the Ball program.

Honouring a legend and working for the community

Essendon will be playing for more than four points when they line up against Hawthorn at the Dome this weekend. The game will be a tribute to Bill Hutchison - an Essendon great who won two Brownlow medals, played in four Premiership sides and 10 Grand Finals, and who captained the Club 122 times.

Over 2000 people of various ages and cultural backgrounds took part in yesterday’s Walk in Harmony – a symbolic walk to The Dome that aims to bring together Melbourne’s multicultural communities while celebrating Australia’s success as a diverse society and to promote social cohesion.

Essendon announces Indigenous program partnership

Essendon Football Club today announced DESA Australia Pty Ltd as the club’s official Indigenous Community Programs Partner. Essendon’s Indigenous community programs have grown significantly in the past two years and now include fostership programs with the remote communities of Wadeye and the Tiwi Islands in the Northern Territory and the establishment of the Dreamtime at the ‘G event.
