Rumba push to promote social inclusion

Essendon Football Club is a proud partner of the Rumbalara Football and Netball Club and supports all the work it does in the Shepparton community to promote social inclusion. As part of Rumbalara's commitment, the 2010 Unity Cup will be held at the Congupna Football and Netball Club on Saturday1st May.

Windy Hill raises hope in the fight against cancer

Almost $250,000 has been raised for the Cancer Council of Victoria following the 2010 Moonee Valley Relay for Life which was hosted by Essendon Football Club at Windy Hill earlier this year.  

The Moonee Valley Relay for Life Committee revealed last week that it was the second highest fundraising total in the event’s 11-year history.



Bombers bound for Shepparton

Essendon will conduct its first intra-club practice match of the season in Shepparton on Wednesday 3rd of February as part of the club’s Community Camp on February 3-4 2010. Assistant coach Ashley Prescott said the playing group are looking forward to their first hit-out of the season and would be keen to impress selectors ahead of the club’s NAB Cup opener against West Coast at Subiaco.

Essendon players and staff have opened their hearts and wallets to support the less fortunate this festive season. Led by newly appointed captain Jobe Watson, Essendon’s entire playing list have dug deep to support Wesley Mission’s food appeal through cash and food donations.



Bombers share the Christmas spirit

Essendon’s players and coaches helped spread the Christmas cheer to the less fortunate today, hosting a special Christmas luncheon at Windy Hill Venue. Bombers’ speedster Jason Winderlich said he enjoyed sharing a special Christmas feast with the socially and financially disadvantaged members of the Brotherhood of St Laurence’s Coolibah Centre.
