Problem Gambling
Essendon Football Club and the Victorian Government through the Department of Justice (DoJ) have entered into a Problem Gambling Community Partnership. The purpose of this Community Partnership is to assist in raising awareness of the impacts problem gambling - both financial and emotional - can have on individuals in the work place and in the broader community, and to deliver messages and information to help address this issue.
Through the partnership with DoJ, EFC will seek to:
- provide operational role models to utilise via strategic campaigns in the community;
- encourage the distribution of educational materials and support resources through the EFC channels;
- develop activities to assist in the prevention and reduction of problem gambling within the EFC and broader community;
- reach and educate the youth community, EFC members and the broader community on the issue of problem gambling; and
- deliver the messages of the Victorian Government’s campaign to the broader community.
