What is 3 from 3?
Essendon supporters have the chance to take home up to $10,000 from three Essendon home games in 2008. The brand new '3 from 3' competition will give three lucky supporters the chance to win $10,000 in a goal kicking shootout at each of these three games.
In the week leading up to three designated Essendon home games, Essendon fans will be able to register for the competition at essendonfc.com.au or three.com.au.
Fans wishing to enter the competition need only complete the on-line entry form and answer the featured question for that particular round. The first three valid entires will be drawn out and win the chance to kick for the cash.
If you are an existing 3 mobile customer you will be kicking for $10,000, If not you will be kicking for $5,000.
Each contestant will be given three shots from directly in front of goal. The first shot will be from the goal-square, the second shot from a spot 25 metres out from goal and the third from a spot 35 metres out from goal.
After the three fans have attempted shots from each distance, scores will be tallied and the person with the most points from the three attempts will have the opportunity to kick for goal from the 50-metre mark for the chance to win. Should our contestants be tied, they will kick for a share of the money.
Each week the three participants will receive an Essendon Football Club jumper and EFC/3 cap that they will get to wear during the competition. The weekly winner will also receive a 3-phone package. They will also receive two tickets to a nominated Essendon home game.
Bomber fans will have the opportunity to test their kicking ability in the '3 from 3' competition during the following rounds:
Round 4: v W' Bulldogs
Round 11: v Hawthorn
Round 17: v Collingwood
Please note: Entry is open to all residents of Australia aged 12 years or over, excluding registered senior footballers. Employees and their immediate families of Essendon Football Club, Legion Interactive Pty Ltd, and their associated agencies and companies are not eligible to enter.

Terms and Conditions
- Information on how to enter forms part of the terms of entry. Entry into the competition is deemed acceptance of these terms and conditions.
- Entry is open to all residents of Australia (excluding SA residents). aged 12 years or over and who are not registered senior footballers at the time of draw (“Eligible Entrant”). Employees and their immediate families of Essendon Football Club, Belong Pty Ltd, and their associated agencies and companies are not eligible to enter.
- The competition commences on Friday 4th April 2008 and concludes at 12pm (EST) on Wednesday 23rd July 2008. ("Promotion Period")
- For the chance to kick a goal for $5,000, or $10,000 (if an existing 3 mobile customer), an Eligible Entrant will be required to log on to www.essendonfc.com.au prior to each of the following Essendon Home Games:
Round 4: 11/4/08 (7.40pm) - Telstra Dome
Round 11: 7/6/08 (7.10pm) - Telstra Dome
Round 17: 26/7/08 (2.10pm) – MCGand complete the online entry form with their details, including (but not limited to), their name, address, daytime phone number, and the answer to the featured question for that round.
- Incomplete, incomprehensible and illegible entries will be deemed invalid.
- Participants can enter as many times as they like, however, only one prize per person is permitted.
- The Promoter reserves the right to verify the validity of entries and to disqualify any entry which, in the opinion of Promoter, includes objectionable content, profanity, potentially insulting, inflammatory or defamatory statements, disqualify any entrant who tampers with the entry process, who submits an entry that is not in accordance with these Terms & Conditions of Entry or who has, in the opinion of Promoter, engaged in conduct in entering the Promotion which is fraudulent, misleading, deceptive or generally damaging to the goodwill or reputation of the Promotion and/or Promoter. The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify a winner if Promoter becomes aware that the winner and/or the winner’s entry is of a type described in this clause

- Game Of Skill Competition – Major Prize:
The Major Prize will be determined by a Game of Skill and chance plays no part in determining the winner.
The first three valid entries drawn from all entries received for each prize draw will win the chance to participate in a goal kicking shootout from three positions on either the Telstra Dome (Rd 4 and 11) or MCG (Rd 17).
The three shots will all be taken on a direct angle in front of the goal (southern end of ground). The first shot will be from the top of the goal square, the second shot from a spot 25 meters out of goal and the third from 35 meters out from goal.
Scores will be tallied and the person with the most goals from the three attempts will have the opportunity to kick for goal from the 50-metre line for the chance to win $5,000, or $10,000 if they are an existing 3 mobile customer. A successful goal will also be awarded if the ball rolls through the goals.
In the event that none of the participants score a goal, no prize will be awarded. If two or all of the participants score the same number of goals (i.e one, two or three), then each participant will get a shot at winning $5,000, or $10,000 if they are an existing 3 mobile customer. In the event that two or all of the participants score a goal to win the major cash prize, then the prize pool will be split as follows;

- Total maximum prize money available to won at each game is $10,000.
Winners chosen must be available to participate in the Game of Skill competition at the time specified by the Promoter to coincide with the dates of the scheduled game. If the verified winner is detained, delayed or unable to attend the game for any unforeseeable reasonable cause, a proxy can be nominated at the absolute discretion of the Promoter to attend the event in their place. The proxy can not be a registered senior footballer. - 11. Additional Prizes:
- All participants in the Game of Skill competition will receive two tickets to the nominated Essendon Home Game valued at $43.50, an Essendon Football Club Guernsey valued at $110 and Essendon Football Club/3 Cap valued at $30.
- The winner of the goal kicking shootout will receive a Sony Ericsson K6101 – valued at $179. In the event of a tie between two or all participants then each will receive the Sony Ericsson K6191 phone. - Total maximum prize pool value is $33,263 (including GST)
- If a winner is under the age of 18 as at the date of each draw, an adult must accompany the minor in the participation of the prize.
- Unless expressly stated in these terms and conditions all other expenses become the responsibility of the winner. The winners will be responsible for arranging their own transport to and from the ground, and will be required to collect their seats one hour before the game commences.
- A total of nine valid entrants will be drawn at random over the Promotion Period to become the winners. All draws will take place at Belong, Level 8, 155 George Street, Sydney NSW 2000, at 1pm (AEST) on 8/4/08 (Rd 4), 4/6/08 (Rd 11) and 23/7/08 (Rd 17)
- By entering this competition, entrants accept and acknowledge full responsibility for their decision to participate in this prize should they be chosen as winners. The winners release the Promoter and other organisers, their related bodies corporate, affiliates, officers, agents and employees, from all liabilities, loss and damage of any kind arising at any time out of or in connection with the acceptance of, and participation in, the prize. Without limiting the foregoing, the released parties not be liable for any injury, sickness or death, property loss or damage or other direct or indirect loss or damage of any kind, howsoever sustained or incurred, in connection with or arising out of the prize or any other aspect of the prize. The winner acknowledges that they have been warned that there is a possibility of an accident causing injury or property damage in accepting the prize.
- If the prize is unavailable, for whatever reason, the Promoter reserves the right to substitute the prize for a prize of equal or greater value, subject to State Regulation.
- The Promoter reserves the right to refuse to allow a winner to take part in any or all aspects of the prize, if the Promoter determines, in their absolute discretion, that a winner is not in the mental or physical condition necessary to be able to safely participate in the prize. It is a condition of accepting the prize that the winner may be required to sign a legal release in a form determined by the Promoter in its absolute discretion.
- Once prizes have left the Promoter’s premises, the Promoter takes no responsibility for prizes damaged, delayed or lost in transit.
- By accepting the prize, the winner agrees to participate in and co-operate as required with all reasonable media editorial requests relating to the prize, including but not limited to, being interviewed and photographed, filmed and/or chaperoned throughout the duration of the prize.
- In consideration for the Promoter awarding the prize to the winner, the winner hereby permits the winner’s image photographed or filmed during the winner’s participation in the prize to appear in connection with Essendon Football Club or 3 Mobile website or the advertising or marketing thereof, in any media whatsoever throughout the world and the winner will not be entitled to any fee for such use.
- In the event that for any reason whatsoever a winner does not take an element of the prize at the time stipulated by the Promoter then that element of the prize will be forfeited by the winner and cash will not be awarded in lieu of that element of the prize.
- Prize values are based upon the recommended retail prices at the time of printing (inclusive of GST). The Promoter accepts no responsibility for change in prize value.
- Independent financial advice should be sought as tax implications may arise as a result of accepting the prize.
- The winners will be notified on the same day of the relevant draw by telephone and email, and their name will be published in the Public Notices section of The Australian newspaper on 22/4/08 (Rd 4 winner), 18/6/08 (Rd 11 winner) and 6/7/08 (Rd 17 winner).
- Should an entrant’s contact details change during the Promotion Period, it is the entrant's responsibility to notify the Promoter. A request to access or modify any information provided in an entry should be directed to Promoter.
- Each winner drawn will be required to claim their prize 2pm (AEST) on 9/4/08 (Rd 4), 5/6/08 (Rd 11) and 24/7/08 (Rd 17), and if the prize remains unclaimed by this time, the Promoter will conduct a further prize draw at 5pm on the same day to award the unclaimed prize (subject to any written directions given under State Regulations). In the event of a re-drawn winner, their details will be published in the Public Notices section of The Australian as outlined in Condition 25.
- The Promoter’s decision is final and the Promoter will not enter into correspondence regarding the Competition result.
- It is a condition of accepting the prize that the winner must comply with all the conditions of use of the prize and the prize supplier’s requirements.
- In the case of the intervention of any outside act, agent or event which prevents or significantly hinders the Promoter’s ability to proceed with the competition on the dates and in the manner described in these terms and conditions, including but not limited to vandalism, power failures, tempests, natural disasters, acts of God, civil unrest, strike, war, act of terrorism, the Promoter may in its absolute discretion cancel the competition and recommence it from the start on the same conditions, subject to any written directions given under State Regulation.
- The Promoter shall not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever which is suffered (including but not limited to indirect or consequential loss) or for any personal injury suffered or sustained in connection with any prize/s except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law. The Promoter is not responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information, either caused by the phone user or for any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilised in this competition, or for any technical error, or any combination thereof that may occur in the course of the administration of this competition including any omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line or telephone, mobile or satellite network failure, theft or destruction or unauthorised access to or alteration of entries.
- The Promoter reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual who the Promoter has reason to believe has breached any of these conditions, or engaged in any unlawful or other improper misconduct calculated to jeopardise the fair and proper conduct of the promotion. The Promoter’s legal rights to recover damages or other compensation from such an offender are reserved.
- Essendon Football Club, 3 Mobile and their associated agencies and companies assume no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorised access to, or alteration of entries, and reserves the right to take any action that may be available.
- If for any reason this competition is not capable of running as planned, including due to infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures or any causes beyond the control of the Promoter, which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness or integrity or proper conduct of this promotion, the Promoter reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process, take any action that may be available, and to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the competition, subject to any written direction given under State Regulation.
- By entering the promotion, unless otherwise advised, each entrant also agrees that the Promoter may use this information, in any media for future promotional, marketing and publicity purposes without any further reference, payment or other compensation to the entrant, including sending the entrant electronic messages. Any request to update, modify or delete the entrant’s details should be directed to The Promoter.
- 3 Mobile, on behalf of Essendon FC will be collecting the entrant's personal information for the purpose of conducting and promoting this competition (including but not limited to determining and notifying winner). The entrant's personal information may be disclosed to 3 Mobile for this purpose. If you are not willing for this to occur you cannot participate in the Promotion.
- Entrants’ personal information will be disclosed to State and Territory lottery departments and winners’ names published as required under the relevant lottery legislation. A request to access, update or correct any information should be directed to the Promoter.
