Entering his second season in the AFL system Will Hams is looking forward to the prospect of more games at senior level in 2014.

Hams played three games during his firs season at the club after being selected in last year’s pre-season draft.

There is a glint of determination in the 19-year-old’s eyes when the topic of playing more senior football this season arises.

“NAB Cup is coming up so hopefully I can get a few games in there,” he said.

“Hopefully I can keep progressing from week to week and get a couple of games in the (home and away) season.”

“At this stage I am just taking it one step at a time so we will see how we go.”

Already with strong endurance levels and a ferocious attack on the ball Hams has displayed his tenacity during his three senior games.

The left footer from the Gippsland Power is already noticing the effects of his second pre-season since returning to the track following the Christmas break.

“It has been good to get back and do a lot of game sense drills which has been really tough but good fun at the same time,” Hams said.

“Coming into the pre-season doing the running and you feel a lot stronger in the gym as well so you can definitely tell the difference between this year and last year.”

“Hopefully I am developing a bit more and can get a few more games this year.”
