The starring performance of young forward Joe Daniher on Saturday night is something fans can expect more of in the future according to his teammates and coaches.

Daniher was among the best Bombers on the field in the elimination final loss to North Melbourne finishing the match with a career-high four goals.

He also collected eight contested possession among his 11 for the night showcasing his ability to match it with most opponents in the physicality stakes.

General Manager Football Performance Neil Craig praised the performance of the the 20-year-old in just his 26th game of AFL.

"He provided our supporters a glimpse of what we can expect from him in the future," Craig said.

"He has a really good head on his shoulders, he is competitive and has great self-belief in the way he goes about his football.

"In another two to three years Joe Daniher is going to get a lot of people out of their seats."

Teammates Dyson Heppell agreed with Craig’s assessment of Daniher’s first class finals performance.

“He was absolutely fantastic the way he attacked the ball and finished the goals,” Heppell said post game.

“He kicked the goals at really important times and there I no doubt he is going to be a star.”

The father son recruit who played just five games in his first season under James Hird was given further opportunities this season under Mark Thompson.

In just his second season in the AFL Daniher teamed up with Jake Carlisle to at times form a lethal combination.

He played 21 games for a return of 28 goals to win the club’s goal kicking tally.
