Young Essendon forward Patrick Ambrose will put his speed to the test against the best in the competition at the MCG on Saturday in the 13CABS Grand Final sprint.

After a stand out debut season showcasing his athleticism Ambrose has been selected to represent the Bombers at the annual Grand Final sprint.

In an open field the heats of the event will be held at 12.30 ahead of the start of Hawthorn v Sydney, with the final of the sprint to be run during the half-time break, at approximately 3.40pm.

Adelaide champion Patrick Dangerfield who won the race the last three years will not take part in this year’s event.

Geelong’s Jordan Murdoch is likely to start as favourite for the event this year, having posted one of the fastest ever 20m sprint times at the AFL Combine – stopping the clock at 2.86 seconds.
