Essendon Football Club is excited to announce promising midfielder Aaron Heppell has signed a new one year deal with the club’s VFL side.

After an outstanding debut season for the Bombers, the 19-year-old has decided to call the True Value Solar Centre his home again in 2015.

The Heppell name is synonymous with the Bombers following the rise of older brother Dyson over the last few years in becoming one of the star midfielders of the competition.

VFL General Manager Matt Little welcomed Heppell back on board for the upcoming season.

“We are pleased Aaron has decided to sign on for another season with our VFL side after an impressive first up season in 2014,” Little said.

“He is the seventh signing we have made ahead of the 2015 season and will be exciting to see him to continue to develop during next season.”

Coach Hayden Skipworth said he was excited to once again be working with Heppell in season 2015.

“Aaron had a great first season with our VFL side and his professionalism in preparation reflects his performance on the field,” Skipworth said.

“He has the ability to play right across the field and I look forward to working closely with him during the season to continually develop his football.”

Heppell is a strong contested ball winner who reads the play well and has the ability to play right across the groundthrough the backline, midfield or up forward.

The 19-year-old becomes the VFL side’s seventh signing following the announcement last week of the signing of James Polkinghorne, Marcus Maragliani, Daniel Coghlan, Alex Hickey, Sam Heavyside and Liam Byrne.
