Young forward Patrick Ambrose has been officially elevated to the club’s senior list following the completion of the 2014 National Draft.

The 23-year-old had a stellar debut season in the red and black with 13 goals from his 16 matches at AFL level.

Ambrose said he was looking forward to being a permanent member of the club’s senior list.

“It is exciting, it was great to get an opportunity last year to play but to be elevated to the senior list and be eligible to play every game is really exciting,” Ambrose said.

“You have to be lucky but if you keep working hard then you will get an opportunity and you have to take it when it comes.”

Coach James Hird said it was great to see Ambrose rewarded for an outstanding first season of football.

“Obviously Patty’s first year of football in 2014 was exceptional, he came from nowhere for us and deserves his opportunity on the list,” Hird said.

“We are very excited to put him on the senior list tonight but the way football works now with the rookie list and main list there is not a lot of difference.”

“It is exciting for Patty and it is exciting for the club.”

Ambrose is set to form an important part of the club’s forward line structure alongside Joe Daniher and Jake Carlisle during the 2015 season.
