For 142 years it has stood strong.

It represents the success, strength and resilience of the Essendon Football Club. It is symbolic of our passionate supporters and it is what separates the Essendon Family from the rest of the competition.

This is our fabric.

In 2015, Essendon Football Club will continue the successful ‘Don The Sash’ membership campaign, however it has also weaved a new chapter this season.

The campaign pays tribute to our loyal fans, and the one symbolic element that unites us all. Our indestructible red and black guernsey.

Unveiled by Kevin Sheedy, the ’This is our Fabric’ campaign is a call to arms, urging Bomber supporters to unite behind our fearless players as they embark on another gruelling push for finals success.

‘This is Our Fabric’ campaign includes a new television commercial narrated by none other than ‘Sheeds’.

CEO Xavier Campbell said the ‘This is our Fabric’ membership campaign is a celebration of the club’s long and proud history and traditions.

“This season’s membership campaign sums up what it means to be an Essendon supporter. It acknowledges the 142 years of history and success that has shaped the proud fabric of our great club,” Campbell said.

“Our guernsey is symbolic of who we are and the success we have achieved. It stood for more than 140 years and will stand for another 140 years. Just like our players, every time our fans pull on the Guernsey, they wear it with pride.”

Campbell said the best way for Essendon supporters to secure their seat at all the big blockbuster games in 2015 was to sign-up today.

“The red and black colours of our guernsey are bold, like our vision. We have set a target of 65,000 members in 2015, and the most pleasing aspect is we are on track to achieve it.”

“With so many blockbuster games this season, including the 1984/85 Premiership celebrations against Hawthorn, the ANZAC Day clash which is part of the 100 year anniversary of the Gallipoli landings, the easiest way for our supporters to secure a seat to these massive games is by purchasing a 2015 membership.”

Sheedy said he was excited to be back at the football club, and was looking forward to listening and engaging with the club’s passionate supporters.

“The Essendon family stretches far and wide,” Sheedy said.

“We have the most loyal and passionate supporters across the country and across the world we want them to be a part of our fabric and join the club as a member or stay a member in 2015.”

“You stand your ground in the toughest ordeals in the trenches and there is no tougher time at Essendon than now. That is why I came back.”

“Barrackers yell and supporters are members. I’ve always believed that.“

“Essendon can be the first club to reach 100,000 members in the AFL. I have no doubt about that.”

“You only have to look at the Watsons, Danihers, Fletchers, Hirds, this is a great club and we want our fans to get behind this young group of men and support them throughout 2015.”
