Warnie from The Traders, AFL.com.au’s NAB AFL Fantasy experts, will be taking a look at the Bombers each week exclusive to essendonfc.com.au.

LAST WEEK

Unfortunately the boys couldn’t get the job done against North Melbourne on Friday night, however coaches who backed in Dyson Heppell as their Fantasy skipper took something positive out of the game.

Heppell collected 29 disposals with an impressive kick, handball ratio of 21:8. He added to his points by taking six marks and laying five tackles. It was a welcomed score after posting 86 and 81 in the previous two weeks.

Jobe Watson was as consistent as ever, knocking up his fourth Fantasy ton of the year.

Shaun McKernan came in for his first game in the red-and-black sharing the ruck responsibilities with Tom Bellchambers. They had a tough assignment coming up against the in-form Todd Goldstein and scored 54 and 47 points respectively.

TOP 5 SCORERS V NORTH MELBOURNE

  • 125 – Dyson Heppell (MID, $582,000)
  • 102 – Jobe Watson (MID, $556,000)
  • 101 – Brendon Goddard (FWD/MID, $564,000)
  • 96 – Michael Hurley (DEF, $436,000)
  • 83 – Patrick Ambrose (FWD, $363,000)

ON THE RADAR

If McKernan can become a permanent fixture in the side, a downgrade from Bellchambers will pocket you $158K and keep the RUC/FWD link in your side.

Bellchambers dropped $7,000 this week and it is would be wise to upgrade him to a more consistent Fantasy performer. He has done his job, making $74K and posting solid scores however it’s time to trade him to a premium or look at using the cash from him to McKernan to better your squad.

I find it hard to believe that Brendon Goddard is in less than 25% of teams. He has scored 113, 124, 119 and 101 over the last month and the FWD/MID is my first choice for the forward line.

WHAT’S COMING UP

The Bombers meet the Lions at Etihad Stadium on Sunday.

Last time the two sides met, Jobe Watson found the ball 35 times, took seven marks and went on to lay nine tackles to lead all socers with 149 Fantasy points.

Not surprisingly, Dyson Heppell and Brendon Goddard were in the numbers scoring 127 and 126 respectively.
