Essendon forwards Paul Chapman and Adam Cooney are set to return to the side for this Sunday’s match against Brisbane.

Chapman has been sidelined since Anzac Day with a groin problem while Cooney injured his hamstring a week earlier against Carlton.

“They’ll be available.  They’ve done a full week this week,” Club Doctor Bruce Reid.

The inclusion of the experienced pair will be welcome news for the Bomber forward line.

Cooney kicked three goals against Sydney in his first game for the club, while Chapman booted two majors in the matches against Hawthorn and Carlton.

Jake Carlisle is also a chance to bolster the forward line after recovering from a pinched nerve in his neck.

“He’s very good now.  I’d be very surprised if he doesn’t play this week,” Dr Reid said.

First year player Kyle Langford was injured early in the match against North Melbourne when he courageously went back with the flight of the ball.

He tried to play on but was eventually subbed at half time.

“He got a really nasty corky in that clash,” Dr Reid said.

“He’s doing ok.  It’s early days, we’ll see how he goes today.  Hopefully he gets up.”

Another young player, Jake Long, is set for a stint on the sideline.

He broke his thumb in the VFL last week and will miss six weeks.
