Essendon will take on the Brisbane Lions this Sunday afternoon in a game where the Bombers will be hoping to get the back on the winners list.

Coming off two consecutive losses, Essendon has welcomed back some important players while the Lions will be hoping to make it three wins in a row.

Here are the Burning Questions.

Is Jobe the answer?

Essendon has struggled in attack so far this season.  With such a young forward line, the addition of Jobe Watson has added some stability and experience.

The Bombers rank 16th in attack this season.  Watson spent extended periods in the forward half last week and the move paid off with the skipper kicking two goals.

Forwards Coach Nathan Bassett said the experiment is likely to continue.

Does Brisbane have the most underrated midfield?

The addition of Dayne Beams has added some class and maturity to the young Brisbane outfit.  Beams was considered one of Collingwood’s most dominant midfielders before departing and now gives the Lions the structure and support they have been searching for.

The 2010 premiership player averages nearly 30 disposals a game.  He’ll line up alongside the 2010 and 2014 rising star winners, Daniel Rich and Lewis Taylor, not to mention renowned ball winner, Tom Rockliff.

After last week’s win against Port Adelaide, Brisbane is beginning to show they can match it with the best.

How good can these brothers get?

The Merrett boys add speed; class and great defensive pressure to the Bombers forward mix.

Zach, 19, who has just signed a new three-year contract, averages 20 disposals a match and managed to play every game last season.

Jackson, 22, is also providing some vital pace across the ground.

The brothers had a big impact when they combined for three crucial goals in a close win against Brisbane last season.

Can Essendon turn its season around?

Coming off two disappointing losses, a third defeat could severely dent Essendon’s finals chances.

The club has picked a strong line-up, welcoming back Paul Chapman, Adam Cooney and Jake Carlisle.  These inclusions will add some strength and maturity into the team and leadership around the ground.

In his short time at Essendon, Cooney has averaged 15 disposals in his three games for the club.  He also kicked three goals against the Swans in an excellent round one performance.
