Essendon Football Club in conjunction with the Essendon Women’s Network is pleased to announce Liptember has come on board as the new Naming Rights Partner of The Grand Final Comedy Debate.

‘Liptember’ is a campaign aimed at raising vital awareness and funding for women's mental health during the month of September.

Participants are encouraged to raise funds by purchasing the official Liptember lipsticks, available from Chemist Warehouse, and wearing it proudly during the month of September.

Adam and Haylea Cooney were joined by Dyson Heppell and Kate Turner to launch the new partnership at the True Value Solar Centre.

Haylea Cooney said she will be throwing her support behind Liptember as they aim to raise more than $1,000,000 in 2015.

“I’m excited to help announce the new partnership between the Essendon Football Club and Liptember,” Cooney said.

“This is such a fantastic cause, I don’t normally wear lipstick but I’ll be doing it for Liptember and most importantly getting a few of my girlfriends involved as well.”

Kate Turner also confirmed she’ll be applying a brighter shade of ‘lippy’ this Liptember.

“I’m normally more of a nude lipstick kind of girl, I think I‘ve only worn red lipstick once at last year’s Brownlow medal,” Turner said.

“Women’s mental health is obviously an important issue, and now that I’m aware of the great work Liptember is doing the more advocacy and awareness we can create the better.”

Luke Morris, Managing director of Liptember said all funds raised during the campaign will be donated to the Centre for Women's Mental Health and Lifeline.

"Liptember is absolutely thrilled to be partnering with the Essendon Football Club to help support women's mental health this September,” Morris said.

“We’re encouraging people to support the campaign by wearing these bright, crazy coloured lipsticks, and we just want to get women involved and get the message out there that mental health isn’t something to be ashamed of.”

As part of the new partnership, Liptember will also be working closely with the Essendon players to help raise awareness at the club and the wider AFL community.
