Warnie from The Traders, AFL.com.au’s NAB AFL Fantasy experts, will be taking a look at the Bombers each week exclusive to essendonfc.com.au.

LAST WEEK

It wasn’t a game to remember for the Bombers. Unfortunately for Jobe Watson in his 250th, he was quiet with just nine disposals and 52 Fantasy points.

Only Dyson Heppell knocked up a ton, scoring 124 thanks to kicking two goals and 32 possessions. Cale Hooker wasn’t too far behind in his forward role which saw him kick three goals for 99 points.

As we had just two players to score over 80 compared to the 15 Saints who achieved that feat. St Kilda racked up a massive 1974 points to Essendon’s 1265.

TOP 5 SCORERS V ST KILDA

  • 124 – Dyson Heppell (MID, $563,000)
  • 99 – Cale Hooker (DEF, $397,000)
  • 80 – Michael Hibberd (DEF, $456,000)
  • 79 – Shaun McKernan (FWD/RUC, $267,000)
  • 65 – Zach Merrett (FWD/MID, $491,000)

ON THE RADAR

With so many scores well below their average on Sunday, there could be quite a few bargains to be had out of Bomberland in the coming weeks.

Brendon Goddard had his lowest full game Fantasy score since 2007. His seven disposals earned him just 29 points. Dropping $28K and with a breakeven of 139, Goddard will be getting towards $500K and in the next week or two we can get him at a low price.

In his first game since round six, David Zaharakis’ scored just 54 points and as he is now available as a FWD/MID he is worth monitoring. A breakeven of 112 and priced at less than $400K he should be watched over the next fortnight as a bit of a sub-premium selection.

A few Bombers have negative breakevens at the moment. Orazio Fantasia has a groin injury, but when he returns he is set for a price rise. For more instant cash, Nick O’Brien will see further price rises with his -4 breakeven while Shaun McKernan is relishing his time in the ruck with -3.

WHAT’S COMING UP

On Saturday afternoon the Bombers head back to the MCG to take on the Demons.

Last time the two sides met Essendon fell short by one point. Brendon Goddard (157) and David Zaharakis (126) were the best in the round 13 clash last year.
