Essendon Football Club has launched its second #EFCRespect campaign today.

The campaign again focuses on the Club’s long-standing commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion through football and comes at a time when the football community has been challenged by the events of this week.

The new #EFCRespect video features key members of the Essendon playing group promoting a safe, respectful and enjoyable environment for everyone at the footy.

CEO Xavier Campbell said the new #EFCRespect campaign will be launched on the big screen against the Western Bulldogs on Sunday.

“We aim to be a leader in promoting diversity, understanding and respect, not only through football, but through our education, indigenous and multicultural community programs,” Campbell said.

“Our #EmbracingIndia game this weekend against the Western Bulldogs is all about promoting inclusion and celebrating diversity in Australia, as well as introducing one of our fastest growing migrant communities to the game of AFL, and the Essendon Football Club.

“The #EFCRespect video makes it very clear we are an inclusive Club, and we will not tolerate anti-social behaviour of any form.

“As an industry we have come a long way in recent years but the events of the last week are a reminder there is a lot more work to be done.

“We have a responsibility to educate and help promote social change. No matter your race, gender, religion or sexuality everyone is welcome at the Essendon Football Club.”
