SC: Well Conor what was it like when the coaches told you you’d be making your debut this weekend?

CM: Ah it was good, the coach took me in yesterday at about 3 o’clock after training.
Corra,  who has been working with me all year, he just said ‘congratulations, you’re playing against Richmond this week’ so it’s just good to get a role now

SC: Have you had a chance to tell your parents back home?

CM: I told the parents yesterday, so they’re flying out tomorrow night
They leave about 5 o’clock, so they’ll be here Thursday morning and it’ll be good to see them

SC: Who are some of the people that have helped you get to this point where you can play AFL footy?

CM: Probably Paul Corrigan and Harry Corrigan the most. They’ve worked with me the most
Paul Corrigan has worked with me, we do early sessions most days, normally on a Tuesday or a Thursday.
And when I went into the forwards, Harry has helped me out there, so the Corras have been good to me.

SC: Over the last 12 months or so, what have been the hardest things to pick-up about AFL footy?

CM: Probably the structures. In defence it wasn’t too bad, but then when I went forward and the structure of the game is just hard to get used to but hopefully I’ll get it right now and come Saturday it’ll come to plan

SC: Does this change your plans for the future now that you’re going to play your first game?

CM: I’ll have to see how I go first but I suppose I’ll be here for two years anyway and see how I go. If all goes well, I’ll be here for a while anyway.
