Ball movement will be one of the keys to breaking down the Richmond defence according to Interim Senior Coach Matthew Egan.

The Tigers are one of the form sides in the competition and haven’t conceded more than 90 points since round seven.

“They’ve had an excellent year in defence,” Egan said.

“They’re ranked fourth, which we were last year, so they’ve taken our spot.

“They’ve got a mixture of pressing the ground at times to make the ground really small and defend areas and make you try to kick long a lot.

“They’ve got some great defensive players in Rance who is in All-Australian form and Chaplin who has had a pretty good year and some really important rebounders down there for them.”

Egan said the key to kicking a winning score would be taking a measured approach.

“There is going to have to be a balance,” Egan said.

“We’re going to have to try to be like last last week, move the ball quick and take the options when they’re there.

“If they lock us in to corners – just be willing to kick it down the line.”
