Interim Essendon Coach Matthew Egan says it’s important the side finishes the season strongly on Sunday.

The Bombers face Collingwood and will be looking for their first win since round 15.

“We’ve had that mindset for a long time that we want to finish off the season strong,” Egan said.

“The last two weeks, the effort has been good.  I think skill errors have cost us.

“Can you improve skill errors in one week? We’ve tried and we’re trying to fix up a few areas in our game.

“We had a really good session today.  We feel they’re (the players)  in a positive frame of mind.”

Essendon welcomes back Kyle Langford but loses Courtenay Dempsey through suspension, the retired Paul Chapman and injured duo Michael Hibberd and Nick O’Brien.

“We need to finish off strong,” Egan said

“Our performances haven’t been good enough this year.

“If we can finish off playing the right way and even get the win then I think we finish on a positive note and we move on and start preparing for next year.”
