Fresh from signing a two-year deal in the latter stages of the season, 2016 promises to be a bright year for Orazio Fantasia.

The second-year Bomber played five games this season, which culminated in a NAB Rising Star Nomination in Round 23.

The 20-year-old racked up a career-high 27 disposals in a sparkling performance, helping the Dons get over the line against the Pies by just three points.

“I was able to back my ability to take the game on, and it worked out nicely in the end,” Fantasia said.

Fantasia has all the attributes to join the next generation of core Essendon midfielders for years to come.

Possessing elite skills and outside speed, Fantasia wants to work on his strength over the off-season.

“The main think I need to work on is getting bigger and stronger,” he said.

“I’m only 72 kilos, so hopefully I can build that up to 75-76ks, and keep my speed.”
