Jake Melksham:

Melbourne is likely to secure the services of Essendon midfielder in the coming week.

Although an official deal is yet to be agreed upon, List Manager Adrian Dodoro spoke confidently on reaching agreement with the Demons in the near future.

“He’s made it clear to us that he would like to go to Melbourne.  We’ve had a number of chats with Todd Viney (Melbourne List Manager) and I think it’ll be pretty straight forward next week,” said Dodoro

“I don’t want to put a number or a draft pick on it at the moment because there is a little bit to play out, but I would think that one will get done pretty quickly next week.

“They’re pretty professional with the way they’re dealing with it.”

Tayte Pears:

The Club will sit down with Pears to determine his future.

Pears had one of his most injury free season in recent years in 2015  and was able to break into the senior side,

“Tayte’s had a really frustrating run over many years and he’s a really highly respected person at our Club,” Dodoro said.

“When he burst onto the scene, I think everyone in the footy world saw what a terrific key defender he looked like being.

“He had a few issues with injuries, but he also suffered a severe internal injury.

“In fairness to Tayte, he’s probably got himself in a really good position now.

“He is uncontracted, but we’re certainly talking to him about the possibility of remaining at the Club next year.”
