Tayte Pears will be ready to participate in full training when players return for pre-season over the next few weeks.

The 25 year old has signed a new one year deal with the Bombers.

After a number of injury interrupted seasons, Pears enjoyed a more consistent run in 2015 and has used his post-season break to maintain his fitness base.

“The body is feeling fantastic,” he said.

“I’ve been in the gym and out here running a fair bit in the lead up to the pre-season, trying to get the body right, so hopefully I can hit the ground running.

“I’m going in to this pre-season with no injuries at all so I’m really excited and looking forward to it.”

Pears earned a senior recall late last season on the back of some consistent performances in the VFL.

His relatively injury free season helped net his best run of games since 2009.

“It gives me a lot of confidence,” Pears said.

“I didn’t have a pre-season at all and I still got through 19 games (17 VFL, 2 AFL) so with a full pre-season under my belt, hopefully I can have a really good year.

“I’m pretty confident that I’ve still got a lot of good footy ahead of me.”

This will be the first time in a number of years Pears will be able to participate in full training when pre-season begins.

In his seven AFL seasons, the West Australian has played 70 matches.

“It’s great to sign on again,” he said.

“I’m very thankful the Club’s given me another go, they’ve shown faith in me.

“I’ve had a lot of injuries but the Club’s been great to me in that respect.”
