The hunt for more quality players isn’t over just yet.

After Tuesday night’s success at the National Draft, the recruiting team will now turn their attention to both the pre-season and rookie drafts both taking place this Friday.

Essendon will look to continue add more depth to its list with a number of exciting prospects that still remain in the AFL talent pool.

List and Recruiting Manager, Adrian Dodoro, was straight back to work after adding seven quality players to the list – devising a sound strategy to take into Friday.

“What we’ll do now is go back to the Club first thing in the morning and do an evaluation of the draft,” Dodoro said.

“We’ll make a determination as to whether we go to the pre-season (draft) or have five rookie picks

“So that’s yet to be determined.”

Senior Coach John Worsfold believes the performance at the National Draft on Tuesday has removed a lot of the stress from Friday’s draft.

“We’re really pleased with the way that it’s all fallen for us with some really high end talent early,” Worsfold said after Tuesday’s National Draft.

“We’ve filled a lot of the needs we’ve been looking for and it gives us a chance to sit back now and work out a strategy for our pre-season and rookie picks.

“I think we’re really pleased with the position we’re in.”
