After a prolonged stint on the sideline, Ryan Crowley and Jonathan Simpkin edging closer to a return.

Both players suffered hamstring injuries but have made progress in their rehabilitation.

Simpkin hasn’t played since injuring his hamstring in the first half against Sydney in round seven, while Crowley has missed the four games.

Over the last few weeks, the two have progressed well in their rehab and are pushing for selection.

“Both those guys are really keen to play this weekend,” said High Performance Manager Justin Crow

“They’ll go out tomorrow at training with the view of proving that they’re ready.

“We’ll be hopeful that we might even see both these players back this week.”

The news is also better for defender Nathan Grima who has been battling a hip injury.

Grima’s progress has been slow, with the club conscious of his existing injury struggles.

“Nathan Grima is working through rehabilitation for his hip," Crow said.

“He’s back in some group training tomorrow, he won’t be available this weekend.

“But, all going well, he’ll get some training under his belt and he’ll be putting his hand up to play.”
