In the first three quarters the Bombers scored from 64% of their forward 50 entries, up from their average of 42.3%.

Sam Kerridge is continuing to tag Brendon Goddard.

Three minutes into the last quarter the Bombers had scored 39 points that were launched from defence, that's 27 more than their season average.

Carlton kicked the first three of the quarter to reduce the margin to 26 points with ten minutes remaining.  Shaun McKernan kicked a steadier with a goal that came after some strong contested work deep in the forward 50.

It ended any hopes of a Carlton comeback.

In the end the Bombers got home by 24 points.

Zach Merrett (34), Matt Dea (27) and Brendon Goddard (24) were the leading ball winners.  Joe Daniher kicked five goals, Anthony McDonald-Tipungwuti booted four and Kyle Langford ended the day with three.
