Joe Daniher has earned a Goal of the Year Nomnation for his impressive goal against Carlton on Saturday afternoon.

The goal was set-up by the hard work of Nick Kommer, who forced the turnover after a big tackle just outside Essendon's forward 50m.

Daniher took the advantage, steadied and then booted a beauty from just outside 50m.

It was one of 5 goals for Daniher in what was one of his best performances of the year.

The big haul saw the young forward finish the year with 43-goals for 2016.

Not only was this a career best for Daniher, but he also became the first Essendon forward to pass 40 goals in a season since Matthew Lloyd did it in 2008.
