Feb 8th 1985 – Essendon star Tim Watson and wife Susie, welcome a baby boy.  They name him Jobe. 

2002 – Jobe Watson graduates from Xavier College in Melbourne.

November 2002 – Essendon select Jobe Watson (pick 40) at the National Draft under the father-son rule.  The Bombers also select Jason Laycock (pick 10), Jason Winderlich (pick 11), Darren Walsh (pick 27) and Tristan Cartledge (pick 28) in that draft. 

June 27th 2003 –Watson makes his debut for Essendon against Geelong.  The Bombers win by 36 points.  Watson ends the match with no kicks and two handballs.

2005 – With 13 games to his name in his first three seasons in the AFL, Watson enlists the help of a boxing coach to boost his fitness. 

Sept 1st 2007 – Watson is left out of the Bombers team for the last few games of 2007.  When Essendon says goodbye to James Hird and Kevin Sheedy in Perth after the final match of the season against West Coast, Watson is at home contemplating where his career is headed.

July 26th 2008 – Watson collects a career high 41 possessions as the Bombers beat Collingwood by 48 points.

2009 – Watson polls 10 Brownlow votes as he begins to cement himself as a top line AFL player.  He also wins the Best and Fairest. 

2010 – Watson is appointed Captain following the retirement of Matthew Lloyd.  He collects 16 of the 43 Brownlow votes awarded to Essendon players.  He again wins the Best and Fairest.

2011 – Watson misses six games but still gains 15 Brownlow votes and comes runner-up in the Best and Fairest.

2012 – Watson completes his most dominant season in the AFL.  He averages 29 possessions a game and kicks 20 goals on his way to winning the Brownlow medal with 30 votes.  He also wins another Best and Fairest, is named in the All-Australian side and takes out the AFL’s best captain award. 

June 27th 2013 – West Coast fans boo Jobe Watson. The Bombers record a memorable win.  Watson picks up 29 possessions and kicks two goals.

2013 – Watson is again named in the All-Australian side.  He finishes second in the best and fairest.

2014 – Watson misses ten weeks with a hip flexor injury.

July 5th 2015 – Watson runs out for his 200th game with Essendon.  He carries a shoulder injury into the match, but courageously plays on.  A few days later, he's ruled out for the season.

December 18th 2015 - Watson is named Captain for a seventh season under new Coach John Worsfold.

January 12th 2016 - Watson and 33 current and former teammates are ruled out for the season by the Court of Arbitration for Sport.

April - September 2016 - As the team plays on, nine Bombers reconfirm their commitment to the Club throughout the season.  Jobe is the final piece of the puzzle.

September 23rd 2016 - Jobe Watson announces he's back in.
