Essendon could field all five 2016 draftees in the side to play Gold Coast on Sunday.

Jordan Ridley, Dylan Clarke, Josh Begley and Kobe Mutch were included in the Bombers 29-man squad alongside Andrew McGrath who picked up nine possessions in his first match in the red and black last week.

Worsfold said Ridley had shown promise throughout the pre-season.

“He’s had a really good pre-season, he’s really impressive with the way he reads the game and his composure using the ball,” Worsfold said.

“He’s ready to have a run at it and it’s exciting because he really has impressed all of the coaching staff.”

The four draftees were among 12 players added to the Bombers 29-man squad that will be reduced to 26 on match day.

Mutch and Clarke will be used in the midfield if selected while Begley will play in the forward line.

“He’s (Begley) had a very good pre-season, ran really well – he might have been in our top ten in our time trials, so he’s worked really hard,” Worsfold.

“Everyone has been impressed with his attitude and the way he’s gone about it, what he’s brought and they’ll be excited to see him in the team.”
