A host of AFL listed players will have the chance to push for senior selection when Essendon VFL runs out for its second practice match of the pre-season on Saturday.

The Bombers host Box Hill at the Club’s Tullamarine training headquarters with the match beginning at 12pm.

The match shapes as another important step in Tom Bellchambers’ comeback.

The ruckman will be playing his second match since knee surgery and after getting through almost three quarters last week, is likely to increase his workload against the Hawks.

“He’s getting closer every week,” Essendon Senior Coach John Worsfold said.

“I would guess in the next two to three weeks, we’ll think he’s done enough.”

The experienced Heath Hocking, Ben Howlett, Craig Bird and Mitch Brown have also been named in the squad.

Food and beverages will be available from the Bomber Café.
