After three goals in the first half, Richmond moved Alex Rance on to Joe Daniher.

The Tigers continued to generate more inside 50s early in the third term, but the Dons were more efficient kicking two of the first three goals of the quarter.

In that period the Tigers had ten inside 50s for their one goal, while the Bombers kicked their two goals from five entries.

At three quarter time the inside 50s were 55-31 in favour of Richmond. Despite the discrepancy the margin was just three points.

The Bombers started to generate more attacking raids early in the last quarter but the first six inside 50s failed to generate a goal and it was the Tigers that kicked the first to take a six point lead.

The rain set in late in the match making scoring difficult.

In the end the weight of territory told and the Tigers got home with a narrow win.
