BTV: RD 17 | Every Goal - Second Half Every Essendon goal from the second half of our Round 17 win against St Kilda.

Essendon is ranked fifth for goals kicked this season after booting another 17 against St Kilda. The Bombers haven’t finished in the top five in this statistic since 2004.

Joe Daniher (45, number two overall), Orazio Fantasia (32, number 15 overall) and Cale Hooker (27, number 20 overall) are among the competition’s leading goal kickers this season.

As good as the Bombers were in attack, their defensive pressure was just as impressive. The tackle differential at the end of the game was +18 (68-50) with five Essendon players (Zach Merrett 10, James Kelly 7, Anthony McDonald-Tipungwuti 5, Tom Bellchambers 5 and David Zaharakis 5) recording five or more tackles.

20

The Dons recorded twice as many marks inside 50 as the Saints (20-10). Joe Daniher (four) and Anthony McDonald-Tipungwuti (three) led the way. Daniher is fifth across the competition for marks inside 50 this season, while Essendon as a team is sixth overall.

100

Michael Hartley (18 disposals), Michael Hurley (27 disposals) and Andrew McGrath (23 disposals) had 68 possessions between them, but the most impressive element was they used the ball with a combined efficiency rate of 100 per cent.

23

Conor McKenna certainly adds a different dimension to the Essendon line-up. He’s had 23 running bounces this season and recorded another four against the Saints. The Dons are ranked fourth for running bounces this season.
