Essendon will celebrate two milestones when the side runs out to take on Western Bulldogs on Sunday.

Cale Hooker will play his 150th match for the Club while Mark Baguley will register his 100th game.

He’s now a key forward but Hooker established himself as one of the best key defenders in the game during the first seven seasons of his career after arriving at the Bombers via the 54th pick in the 2007 National Draft.

The All Australian defender and Crichton Medal winner has spent the last season and a half in attack where he has kicked 52 goals in his last 26 games.

“It’s obviously been a wonderful career to date with the highlights still to come,” Essendon Coach John Worsfold said.

“He’s an All Australian player who is now showing his versatility to play at the other end of the ground.

“He’s just been a great team man.”

Baguley came to the Club after impressing with Frankston in the VFL.

He’s won the Bombers Most Courageous Player award twice and was named Vice-Captain in 2016.

“We forget how valuable and how strong his leadership was last year for us,” Worsfold said.

“He carries that on this year.

“He’s been a wonderful servant for the footy club, he often plays that real dour role for us and commits to his job for the team every week.”
