Adelaide controlled the aerial game early taking 27 of the first 30 marks in the game. After 17 minutes the Crows led 3.2.20 to 1.1.7.

By the quarter time the margin was out to 19 points and the marks read 36-11 the Crows way.

The Bombers started the second quarter brillianty.  At the ten minute mark the Dons led the disposals 60-17, contested possession 19-8 and inside 50s 7-1 for the term.  In that time Joe Daniher booted three goals.

The Crows responded with the next five to get the margin out to 31 points nearing half time.
