Michael Hurley will miss Saturday night’s match against Gold Coast with a calf complaint.

The defender experienced some tightness in his calf following the game against Adelaide and didn’t recover as well as expected this week.

“He's had some discomfort in the lead up to this week's match and scans have revealed a low grade strain,” Essendon’s High Performance Manager Justin Crow said.

“It’s a one to two week injury, so at this stage we’re not ruling out Michael from making a return next week against the Dockers.”

Hurley has played all 20 games for the Bombers so far this season and is averaging a career-high 25 disposals per match.
