Essendon has reached 60,000 members in record time, with the Bombers breaking through the milestone four weeks earlier than any previous season.

The current membership tally sits at 60,348, more than 4000 ahead of the same time last year.

The club is on track to pass 70,000 members for the first time in its 147-year history, after reaching a record 67,791 members in 2017.

Essendon Chief Marketing Officer Justin Rodski praised the incredible support of Essendon members.

“The strength of our club is the loyalty and passion of our members, and we want all of our fans to get behind the team and Don the Sash in 2018,” Rodski said.

“We have already signed 60,000 members in record time, and our next target is 70,000 members for the first time in club history.

“The countdown to round one is on but there are still more than 10,000 members from last year who are yet to sign up.

“There is a great sense of excitement about the season ahead and we hope our new FLY UP campaign captures the sentiment of our members and connects with our fans to be a part of our journey this year and see the Bombers FLY UP.”
