Mark Baguley has a different role in 2018 for the Bombers, making the shift from a small defender to a small pressure forward.

Kicking an equal career high of three goals against the Suns and taking his total to 12 for the season, Baguley said he is enjoying his new role for the team.

“I love it. I’ve played most of my career in the back line and changed up forward now and I’m loving it,” Baguley said after the win on the Gold Coast.

“Its good fun but I obviously just want to play my role for the team and kicking goals is something I enjoy too.”

Baguley also acknowledged the Bombers slow start for the first half of the game however was impressed that scoring opened up in the second half of the match after improving their game.

“We probably didn’t start the way we wanted to, our contest was a little bit off but we spoke about that at quarter time and half time and fixed up our contest stuff around the ball,” he said.

“We lowered our eyes a bit going inside 50 and we were able to score better in the second half.”

The teams focus now shifts to an impending home game on Saturday afternoon against the Fremantle Dockers this weekend in front of a strong Bombers crowd.

“We just want to get back to Melbourne and recover, hopefully we don’t get any injuries out of the game and look forward to next week and hopefully we can win again.”
