Three young Bombers have been named in the AFL Players’ Associations 40-man squad for this year’s 22Under22 team.

The fan-voted team recognises the league’s best young stars and Essendon trio Zach Merrett, Andrew McGrath and Conor McKenna are all in the running to make the side.

Merrett has been the side’s vice-captain in the last two seasons, while Andrew McGrath made the team in his first season last year following NAB AFL Rising Star success.
