Essendon’s round 15 clash with Williamstown will feature the trial of three new rules in VFL Women’s.

When the Bombers take on the ninth-placed Seagulls, the following rule changes will be in place:
- The goal square will be extended from 10 metres to 18 metres.
- Boundary umpires will stand 10 metres inside the boundary line for throw-ins.
- The minimum distance a kick must travel for a mark will be reduced from 15 metres to 10 metres.

Coach Brendan Major says the Bombers are going into the match determined to play as they have all season.

“It’ll be interesting to see how it plays out,” Major said.

“We’re going to look to play our brand … we look forward to just putting our best foot forward with the football we’ve been preparing.

“Williamstown is coming off a win, so we have to focus on getting our structures right and our systems right.”

The match will take place at Windy Hill on Saturday from 3pm.
