The members WANT LOVETT.
- Ralph Lepore (posted 6/12/2011 2:15:45 PM)
Not this member.
- Stuart Dunstan (posted 6/12/2011 4:18:20 PM)
Not all members want Lovett. He had his chances and blew it! We don't need any disruptive behaviour. I have loved him in the past, but do not want him included in the future.
- Joan Hill (posted 6/12/2011 4:22:45 PM)
@ralph don't speak for me, i do not want lovett
- Tim Dowling (posted 6/12/2011 4:23:34 PM)
No they don't Ralph!!!
- Isabelle El Hage (posted 6/12/2011 4:36:12 PM)
Members want to sit together in a general admission area...not fixed seat. Forces people not to get memberships cause they meet with other friends at games and want to sit together.
- Scott McNeice (posted 6/12/2011 4:48:53 PM)
Not me either. Your opinion Ralph. Will you put your hand up if he does come and proves to be a dud (stole that off Ivar and Davo). In Hird we trust!!!
- Brad Scarr (posted 6/12/2011 4:59:47 PM)
I want to become a member but what if you want to go with friends who are not members or aren't even Bombers fans it makes it hard. PS I don't want Lovett. Even though I loved him once he doesn't fit in anymore
- Toryn Kasa (posted 6/12/2011 6:03:57 PM)
Ralph, I am a member, and I don't want Andrew Lovett back at Essendon as a player, you should start looking to the future.
- Gordon Moss snr (posted 6/12/2011 6:22:17 PM)
ummm can someone please clarify for me... i thought we had a pick in the psd... and a few in the rookie draft. but afl.com says that only 6 clubs have a psd pick. so do we only have rookie spots available and are we likely to be rookie listing long ?
- Ian Welsh (posted 6/12/2011 6:30:40 PM)
Will be renewing by Christmas, but shameful behavior by Evans to 'guilt' supporters and members to donate to The Flight Plan, they should've prepared for the likelihood that we wouldn't reach 5 Million in time
- Luke Ferguson (posted 6/12/2011 6:48:18 PM)
Members want to be able to watch their team train. Why is this not allowed E.I?
- Doug Somerville (posted 6/12/2011 7:17:13 PM)
Seems there are a lot of supporters, willing to condemn Andy Lovett, for past transgressions, but few who would forgive him for said transgressions, i firmly believe he could add some zip to our mids, and would be willing to take a chance on his reformed character, besides the fact that he is now 29 and has seen the error of his ways, to forgive is devine, well ain't i devine.
- Max Rodwell (posted 6/12/2011 8:02:51 PM)
No thanks, he can sign up to the WRFL if he likes..
- Vince Pilato (posted 6/12/2011 9:37:20 PM)
We don't want or need Lovett
- Travis Couper (posted 6/12/2011 10:56:46 PM)
I would.. if you didnt stuff up the membership plans....
- Donovan de Cerff (posted 6/12/2011 11:02:58 PM)
I have already started paying for my membership, through the AFL. Does the club normally receive our membership orders by xmas,so I can be a part of the 50,000 club. Diane
- Diane Trask (posted 6/12/2011 11:03:27 PM)
I am one again
- MARK JONES (posted 7/12/2011 7:36:17 AM)
Ok got it wrong first time. The VAST majority of members want Lovett. Those that do not want him don't whinge when we get slaughtered as usual in the midfield. Remember that Stevie J stuffed up and was fixed by Bomber. Look outside the square..
- Ralph Lepore (posted 7/12/2011 8:45:56 AM)
Agree with Scott, If I was to take my family (who only attend a few games per year because of their age) I have to sit in my reserved seat and cant sit with them, or if I want to sit with them I need to purchase a additional general admission ticket and leave my reserved seat empty, same if I wanted to go with other Essendon mates, we can never sit together. The memeberships are very inflexible, if we were at the G, it would be different, the Sqawkers look after their memebers a lot better, maybe thats why they are known as the family club!
- Malcolm Milgate (posted 7/12/2011 8:52:29 AM)
My renewal will be done before Christmas plus my family just donated $250 to the flight plan.
- Adrian Ritson (posted 7/12/2011 9:37:19 AM)
It is disappointing, even shameful, that some members consider a person being falsely accused (as determined by a jury) is disruptive behaviour. I want to see Lovett given another chance at Essendon. He is a great player.
- Ian Moore (posted 7/12/2011 10:06:00 AM)
In my opinion Essendon Memberships haven't been great value for a long time. If we truly want to get back to the top in terms of memberships we need to move back to the 'G, provide more flexibility to potential members, think outside the box (re: Hawthorn and Tassie) and provide memberships that are of better value.
- Rick Astley (posted 7/12/2011 10:06:13 AM)
why not become a member at the Fantastic Club Under James Hird and Bomber Thompson that.s why I am one and the Rest Of you bomber Fans 2 lets get right behind the Bombers and Get them to a 17 Flags Carn the Dons see the Bombers Fly up up in 2012
- MARK JONES (posted 7/12/2011 10:20:03 AM)
Try again, Ralph L.
- Kris Bayne (posted 7/12/2011 10:33:46 AM)
And maybe Ralph, we leave it to the experts - the EFC football department instead of making statements on everyone else's behalf. Lovett is not a solution to any midfield issues.
- Brad Scarr (posted 7/12/2011 11:21:07 AM)
I'm a silver member,I don't expect to be able to take friend/family members to sit beside me when they are not members, yes I take grandchildren but unfortunatly they are not members,I also have seats at the G,and they cant sit with me there, can someone explain to me why they should get the same benefits as a paying member,as some here feel they should, this is why clubs have memberships to raise money to survive,if anyone can tell me what other club allows family/friends to sit with the member I stand corrected.
- Cheryl Spivey (posted 7/12/2011 11:29:10 AM)
all I want for xmas is a box of jumbo sausage rolls to enhance my appearance for a new hangar profile shot.
- ''sausage'' Roel Shields (posted 7/12/2011 12:22:46 PM)
I Agree Cheryl, non members should not get the same advantages, however if I wanted to sit with family and friends in General Admin, I shouldnt have to pay for another seat, which EFC makes you do. If memeberships were more flexible there would be bigger membership numbers.
- Malcolm Milgate (posted 7/12/2011 12:27:26 PM)
I have a AFL,Essendon support package.I sit with my sister and niece they also AFL members. We reserve our seats by the month, this way if we have someone that wants to come to the footy with us,we can get a guest pass.I also agree with Cheryl. To the ones complaining, regarding the Club asking for money for Flight Plan. The club did a survey and asked members if we wanted to contribute.I said yes,as I wanted to feel apart of the new facility. If you dont want to give money dont.Simple.Diane
- Diane Trask (posted 7/12/2011 1:24:47 PM)
comment to Ralph you are Living in the Past Lovett is Over
- MARK JONES (posted 7/12/2011 2:46:17 PM)
I have already renewed my membership and my membership package should reach me before Christmas. So I am very happy. I only worry that will all the changes the EFC have made to the membership options that we can reach their expected total of 60,000. That would be awesome! But I am not holding my breath.
- Alan De Menezes (posted 7/12/2011 3:22:43 PM)
lovett bring him back we need the pace
- jade laws (posted 7/12/2011 3:50:11 PM)
Have handed back my school laptop, so limited chances now to post. So, Membership: Paid. Donation: Paid. Lovett: Don't think they should chase him, but would not scream blue murder if they did. Fev: Can't see the point. Long: has nominated for PSD, so may not make rookie draft. Brandon Lee: have asked around and he seems a good option. Welcome to other ideas, though.
- Wesley Hull (posted 7/12/2011 5:14:37 PM)
Longy - He will make rookie draft Wes, guaranteed. Like to see Tucky at Bomberland and has Laycock put his hand up? Lovett and Fev, nup. If Lovett does come, well and good, will not play senior football though and of no use to the juniors. Would love to see Laycock rookied as our 4th ruck option. The younger hopefuls I will leave to Marty Gol.
- Brad Scarr (posted 7/12/2011 5:42:43 PM)
I understand Malcolm about wanting to sit with family, but I can't see how any club could give you a free seat in General admin, that is 2 seats you have for your membership,it just wouldn't happen, could you imagine if all members wanted this, there just wouldn't be enough seats.
- Cheryl Spivey (posted 7/12/2011 5:45:12 PM)
Wes. Get your lovely wife an I-pad for Chrissy. She will love you long time, and - we do not lose you on the forum. If she is on facebook though, you may have to wait until bedtime to get a go. By the way, my young nephew Daniel has made the cut for the Suns colts. Very proud.
- Brad Scarr (posted 7/12/2011 6:39:34 PM)
its simple our home ground holds 50.000 people so if we got 60.000 members this year it means 10.000 members couldnt get a seat.if we go back to the G we would be able to fit more members in.we also would have a better chance to learn how to win there now that it looks like we could be a finals team agian merry xmas to all efc members .staff.coaches and players
- Ricky Wheeler (posted 7/12/2011 7:42:24 PM)
Lovett would be much slower these days - you want mids in there early to mid twenties. It's nothing to do with his past - his just to old. Wes are you the new EI?
- Steven Boyle (posted 7/12/2011 9:04:58 PM)
I agree with Doug.As a member 4 18 years, now living in the country,l would love to watch the bombers train when lm in melb. Not just at open sessions when its not fair dinkum...
- William Owen (posted 7/12/2011 10:03:19 PM)
As for Lovett, maybe he has matured, hes a great ball carrier, has truck loads of speed, and l reckon he would want to redeem himself. He is the speed we need, but he has to earn his spot...
- William Owen (posted 7/12/2011 10:07:04 PM)
We will return to the power club we once were, our supporters have to become members, stop bagging our players (Salmon,Stanton)(THIS HURTS)and unite as ONE.The ball is in our court to STAND....
- William Owen (posted 7/12/2011 10:14:15 PM)
I'd sit on the rough end of a pineapple balanced on one of the roof struts at Etihad just to watch one game live! PS Thanks again Noel for Port!
- Kris Bayne (posted 7/12/2011 10:49:58 PM)
It can be done, scrap the reserved seat and you can buy additiional tickets with your memebership, this is what Hawks do, buts thats right they are at a ground that can fit all its members and where GF's are won, the sooner we move back to the G the better of memebers will be and maybe we would start winning games there to!
- Malcolm Milgate (posted 8/12/2011 8:24:51 AM)
Hope so, Brad. I like the idea of having six picks and maybe going 1 or 2 second chances, one or two strong bodies (with experience) and 2 or 3 kids missed on draft day. That balance covers past, present and future needs. Long would fit one of those catagories.
- Wesley Hull (posted 8/12/2011 9:11:20 AM)
Brad, great news about Daniel. Congratulations to all. Two of my boys have made the Indigenous Boomerangs side, Isaac and Zengrey, and are off to the Oceania titles soon. Really proud of that and wrapped for the boys. Lots of backroom deals being struck at home to keep Dad on-line, and one, strangely, does involve my wife's technology.
- Wesley Hull (posted 8/12/2011 9:16:30 AM)
I see some of the Port boys are still smarting from that day Kris.. for me,it was one of life's joys to see everyone happy to meet before the game, and then the boys to get over the line and make "Member's Day 2011" one to remember... Priceless,to have Dave & yourself sitting together, witnessing the game and also my submarining of a rowdy Port fan,as "our" scoreboard started to tick over finally.. it was probably bob in disguise, with me supporting the only way I know when a stirrer is amongst us... Am mellowing though.. he he...Cheers :-) :-)
- Noel Shields (posted 8/12/2011 10:52:27 AM)
Noel Shields mellow, yeah,right. :-).
- Bill Carbis (posted 8/12/2011 1:41:06 PM)
Just call Noel "Mello Yello"!
- David Husk (posted 8/12/2011 5:12:06 PM)
I would love to renew my membership but, sadly, cannot afford to now that the Country Membership is no longer available :( And the 3 Game Membership games do not suit my schedule so I am a very sad ex-member. Go the mighty Dons in 2012! I will be barracking hard from my lounge room!
- Narelle Tatt (posted 8/12/2011 11:11:27 PM)
Sorry Dave.. the date flew p....aaaa...sss..tttt :-) Happy Birthday on the 4th !!!!! Cheers Noel :-)
