Bombers bring Christmas joy to less fortunate

In the lead up to Christmas, Essendon players helped spread the festive cheer to the less fortunate at Windy Hill this week.

Bomber stars Dyson Heppell and Stewart Crameri mingled with socially and financially disadvantaged members of the Brotherhood of St Laurence’s Coolibah Centre over a festive Christmas lunch.

Crameri said he was pleased to be able to bring smiles to the faces of the less fortunate in the lead up to Christmas.

“It was great to be able to help those less fortunate than us. Christmas is really a time that brings everyone together,” Crameri said.

“The Christmas period can be a tough time for those people facing hardships but to be able to bring smiles to those faces yesterday was really special.”

The Brotherhood of St Laurence works to alleviate and prevent poverty with both children and families as well as older citizens in the community who face social and financial hardship on a daily basis.

Essendon Football Club is a proud partner of the Brotherhood of St Laurence.
