Bombers pass 35,000 member mark

Essendon Football Club has passed the 35,000 member mark just three weeks out from the club's opening game of the NAB Cup competition against West Coast.

The official tally currently stands at 36,377 putting the club 1,100 members ahead of where it was at the same stage last year.

With the team set to continue their improvement this season, there has never been a more exciting time than now to Stand As One with the Bombers.

have 2 questions about membership- 1 was sent part of membership n told the card n stuff would b delivered in Jan that finishes tomorrow n still no membership card?? also how do we order the member shirt n scarf have looked in bomber shop n membership section can't find it help pls

ei... with the flight plan 4.5 mil short... why havnt essendon organised a fuction like MFC have done in the past when they needed to be bailed out. they invited their millionaire members... ie those who can afford to donate big money... otherwise you are going to struggle to get anywhere near 5 mil to be honest i thought it'd be well over 1.5 to 2 mil by now

Mark and Gordon, a goal of 60,000 should be achievable if all 2011 members sign on, leaving only 10,000 or so to chase. Also, if these people could find a few bucks each for flight plan also, that total could rise dramatically.

Great stuff! Posting emails is all well and good but what about our supporters donating towards the Flight Plan..... STAND AS ONE - yet our supporters don't want to donate..... Pathetic!!!!!

Whilst our support for the club off the field ie memberships, merchandise etc is a given may I suggest that as suppoters at the games we need to get LOUDER. Sheedy once told me (no bs) a lot of supporters at the games are like hypnotised rabbits. Lets get LOUDER.

Dyanne - The membership scarf and polo pack is available through membership, not the Bombershop, if you contact membership you can purchase it through them.

I have a young family of 5 victor and have donated what I could afford but thanks for your concern. but my suggestion was to have a function with the millionaire supporters who could get the tally up where it needs to be and quickly. thought it was a good idea. obviously you dont victor... thats cool

Ian Welsh - I am pushing the point because all supporters of this great club should be donating whatever they can afford but that does not appear to be happening..... I couldn't agree more - where are the big money people! At this stage of the year I thought we would have reached the $1000000 mark.....
