Essendon thoughts with the Amalfi family

Essendon Football Club wishes to extend its deepest condolences to the Amalfi family following the sad passing of Jim Amalfi, who lost his battle with cancer on Sunday.

Amalfi was a founding member of the Coleman Club coterie group and has been a huge supporter of the club for over 40 years.

Essendon number one ticket holder Bruce Heymanson said Amalfi was a fantastic Essendon person.

“Jim was always very generous, very outgoing and a lovable bloke,” Heymanson said.

“He’s been a great supporter of the club for many decades and provided fruit for the boys for all of those years.”

“He was a real knock about person and a good Essendon person who will be dearly missed.”

Always sad to lose a Bomber supporter. It is somehow moving to know that a person we probably never met cheered the same highs and shared the lows of this great club... Sounds like a great bloke. And here's to all those, unsung, who we never hear about. A little bit of The Force moves on. We'll sing for you.
