Definately your opinion Bobby Bob,but this is the time for our young to shine.Time for the young to show the coaches what they are made of.Time for us,the supporters to get to know these young players before the season starts. Not all can dive from the top platform, and expect one dive to get them into the big time.A few dives are needed for coaches and supporters alike,to see what they are made of.Typical of you to just brush this competition aside.Diane

Love the way Bobby Jim Bobs window keeps moving.Bob,you need to give your window an oil, stop it from sliding.First it was"take my word our next coach will be a premiership coach" "we will win a premiership in 2011" One thing Noel,we stick to our guns and story.Just my opinion.Bring on preseason,I say.Diane

Hello Di. happy new year! I don't mind that you disagree with my opinion that wwe CAN WIN 1 or more premierships 2012-2015. that's OK. but please do not make fun of my name? attack the argument - not the legend.

EI: can you confirm Bomber members can get fix for the WA game from next Wednesday, 1/2 before general admin, and if so - we use our membership numbers as the member cards have not been received as yet. Cheers

Ken R. thank you for that info, I wasn't aware members can get early access to tickets. Do you mean Wed. 1st. or 8.30 on 6th. Thanks Gail.

To all interstate supporters....possibly preaching to the converted here, but..... I have purchased the Foxtel sports pack. This means I pay $12.50 each week, cheaper than footy seats. watch it live & no ads. I can watch every game we play & they donate $50 to the club. double bonus. This makes amends considering we rarely, if at all, get to see our lads run out, here in Perth our games are rarely televised unless we're playing Dockers or Eagles. Cheers Gail T

Our gals are the best. Well done Gail. Jen Herrald - where are you? Angie Tuscadero, you must be building up for a bit hit, you are too quiet!

Happy New Year to you as well Bobby, but are you serious. If you were that concerned about your name, you wouldnt keep changing it. I wonder how another person we know, thinks about not having their name made fun of. Diane

Gail, you will love watching the footy on fox. I have had it for years and just love it. I also go to the games,so nothing better than go to the footy, then coming home and watching the replay. I also enjoy watching all the other games as well.Sit back and enjoy your foxtel, its the best for sports.Diane

Agree Diane, Foxtel is good, but have to say I'm a bit worried about Dermie joining the team. I hope Essendon get a fair go in the commentry box! Could do with a few more ex Bombers up there to keep him in line!

can anyone tell me when interstate game tickets will go on sale like to go to the goldcoast game would like to book the airfares now because it is during school holidays.
- Paul Mifsud (posted 5/02/2012 4:36:56 PM)
Oh how exciting. I can't wait.Kaz.!
- Karen Tempany (posted 5/02/2012 6:33:21 PM)
Nicole,I hated listening to Dermie on free to air.He was a bit biased then and will probably be on foxtel. One thing I will give Eddie is he calls a game without to much bias.Paul, think the tickets go on sale either 2 to 3 weeks before the game.I have my flights booked though.Diane

Gloves, right hand - Finally an article in the press on gloves. They have bugged me for years. While I think Don Scott was the first (happy to be corrected), and Lloydy used one for the damaged ligament, the bucket on T. Cloke's paw is absurd. WHY are they allowed at all? If for an injury, there should be a limit, including games (say three). Like all sports equipment, they will get better. Players claim they are for 'protection', but it is a different situation to other ‘protective padding' in that a glove will come into direct contact with the ball, have direct outcome on play and could be an advantage.

Gloves, left hand – There are new materials out there, but I even question the current allowances. While they may meet AFL approval as they are (again, WHY) it is much easier to then ‘enhance’ a glove. Players use spray on grip. I recall NatRat’s first senior game when he used too much. On skin it will quickly wear off, but what about a glove? How do we know gloves aren’t getting a bit of extra help before or during a game? Even a split second advantage may mean the chance of a mark. Simple solution and I don't care who is it, a Bomber or otherwise – ban the glove.
- Kris Bayne (posted 6/02/2012 3:37:15 AM)
You win,hands down, Kris. :-)
- Bill Carbis (posted 6/02/2012 10:56:11 AM)
Kris, wearing gloves when I played netball gave me a much better grip on the ball than your hands. In the dry and more so in the wet,the ball will find it very hard to slip out of your hands.I hated wearing gloves but got used to wearing then very quickly, definately gave you an advantage with the slippery ball.Anyone can wear them and you can see the difference when Cloke marks the ball.It looks like the ball sticks to his hands,it does pretty much.Diane
- Diane Trask (posted 6/02/2012 11:49:31 AM)
Thanks, Diane, for the, literally, firsthand experience with sports gloves. I cannot imagine that it DOES not help in some way, even to the point of increasing the area of possible contact, let alone the quality. And not only marking but hand-balling a greasy Sherrin. A scary thought was "Anyone can wear them" - and that is the big worry. Will we get an epidemic of hand injuries in the AFL that require permanent padding? Old-timers must sneer each time they see them! (Why are they even allowed in netball?)
- Kris Bayne (posted 6/02/2012 12:45:43 PM)
I agree with you Kris, (as usual) it's time to take the gloves off.

where's my membership ticket ?????

The EFC should consider introducing special player gloves that combine the super hero power of Spiderman's handwear with the bold commanding presence of Michael Jackson's fingerless version.

Thanks Diane i have just booked my tickets hope the tickets dont sell to fast small ground and plenty of bomber support in queensland

Kris, I agree. I still remember rubbing resin into my hands before games and seeing the difference it made. Gloves take that assistance to a whole new level. Not the same argument as, say, helmets and mouthguards, which have a genuine wide ranging health benefit. Gloves are just an accessory. Bring back the resin.

how do we get tickets 2 Wangaratta ? have a daughter that lives in Wodonga , and would like to take my Grandson to his 1st Bomber match .

What a solemn and slightly fierce photo. I like the way Mark McVeigh is using the pre-match moment of silence to check to see if he remembered to wear his lucky red shoelaces.
