The Melbourne Stars claimed a four-run victory over their cross-town rivals, finishing the day on 88 runs with the help of Bomber stars Kyle Hardingham, Jake Carlisle, Essendon chairman David Evans and Paul Hamilton.

The Melbourne Renegades, led by Bomber players David Myers, Ben Howlett, Henry Slattery and Michael Hibberd, also put in a solid performance in front of a 2000 strong crowd yesterday.

The kids had a great day which was run very well by the club. David Evans showed he is more than just a great Chairman with his great batting but Hamilton better stick to interviews on Bomber radio and give cricket away.

And now for the showdowns that matter most...the new season. Not only are West Coast and Fremantle quaking in their boots as the NAB Cup starts, but so is North Melbourne as Round One gets closer.
