Wish we had beaten carlton in that bloody final. still hurts!
So much to be proud of Bombers! Thanks for making all these magnificent memories in 2011. It has been a year to remember and to cherish. x Angie
EI - Any word yet on Hurleys contract extension past next year? I saw Carlton signed Wait and thought Essendon were trying to get a new deal done? The longer it takes, the more likely he is going to GWS??
Have many great memories over the season. The Geelong win, going to Adelaide and winning over there after seeing so many losses, personally against Port and Adelaide.Going to Brisbane and seeing my first win up there. Want to forget the two losses in Perth and Sydney, but had the best time going to these places.Watched many great wins and met so many great people. This is the best club in the world.Diane
In the 22 rounds, we had 8 goal scorers in 4 games. 9 goal scorers in 6 games. 10 goal scorers in 7 games and in 3 of those games we had 13 goal scorers. We definately have plenty of players to kick goals, some need to kick straighter. With this information, remind me why we need Fev?. Diane
Reality shows it was an average year. Our best was very good but we toughen up in mental and physical toughness to go forward.
Any news as to when the DVD of the Geelong game will again become available? (welcome back, EI :))Angie
EI, looking at OPTING OUT, OF THE HANGAR, how do i do that??? Today was the first time in 6 mths, that i've logged in....
@ Angie. With all due respect (am I about to shoot Bambi?) after reading your comments I feel better...better get a bucket. We finished 8th, smashed in the final which only served to (once again)highlight the gulf between where we are and where we aspire to be. I'd rather deal in reality, tell it like it is and ignore the sycophants and spin. It is what it is any gains we make in the next few years will (unfortunately) be offset by what we lose along the way. This will be a marathon, not a 100 metre sprint.
Mark, I see your point. In one sense we have mediocrity. But Angie, too, is right to cherish this year's development. I only need think back to 2006, when Carlton's ineptitude saved us from a wooden spoon. We have shown signs of improvement, but this year was our best effort since that bleak season. I am cherishing it till next year comes along.
Also, just checked, the Game Analyser on the AFL site still has all games loaded. If you enjoyed this clip, you can still watch every pulsating minute of our wins against the Dogs, Swans at Etihad, comebacks against Crows, Tiges and Power, the Cat Attack, the Suns carnage, Gabba win, sorry Saints and West Coast win. Watch them while they are still there if you want the whole game (for FREE!!).
Hi Mark. Do you want a spade with that bucket? Then you can build some sand castles. :) I'm not of your ilk, obviously, but I don't mind admitting that I've had an amazing year as a member of this Club. I've screamed myself hoarse, hugged strangers, cried, laughed and floated home on a cloud. Thanks EFC. Angie.
Wes, thanks. I was able to purchase a copy of the Geelong game from the AFL site. I would rather have given my money to the EFC, but, alas, I cannot wait! :)
You can purchase games via the Bombers Shop. The Geelong game is here http://www.essendonfc.com.au/bombershop/product.asp?bshop=2011102711482520&id=2035&scat_id=
Thanks EI. The last time I checked the Bomber Shop (a couple of days ago) the Geelong game was still not available for purchase. I have been checking daily. I weakened finally and bought it at the AFL site. Should I sit in my own naughty chair? :) Angie
