Essendon finalise squad for Richmond clash

The Bombers have finalised their team for tomorrow's clash with Richmond in Morwell with David Myers and Sam Lonergan trimmed from the squad after feeling some general soreness. First year players Jake Melksham, Kyle Hardingham and Ben Howlett will play alongside seasoned stars including Jobe Watson, David Hille, Paddy Ryder and Dustin Fletcher.

The 2010 Season launch is now just four days away but interested fans can still attend. Due to damage to the Victory Room at Etihad Stadium - caused by last week’s violent storms - the club has been forced to change venues. | |
Windy Hill master-plan remains on track

The Essendon Football Club master-plan for Windy Hill remains on-track following a favorable ruling by Moonee Valley City Council for the relocation of the local cricket club from Windy Hill to near-by Fairbairn Park. Essendon CEO Ian Robson said the Bombers’ No.1 off-field priority for 2010 and beyond is securing funding to turn Windy Hill into a significant sporting and community hub featuring a multi-million dollar high performance centre within three years.

The Bombers will field an all-star team against Richmond in this Saturday's Challenge match in Morwell including Jobe Watson and key talls Paddy Ryder and David Hille. The coaching department have named the best possible 28-man squad for the club's last competitive hit-out before Round 1 against Geelong on March 26. | |
