Hurley collects votes at NAB Rising Star

Essendon key position player Michael Hurley has finished with two votes at this year's NAB AFL Rising Star awards at Crown Palladium. Jake Melksham also secured a Rising Star nomination this season but did not poll in the final votes. The Ron Evans Medal was awarded to Dan Hannebery from the Sydney Swans who finished a clear winner with 45 votes.

Watson, Fletcher named in All Australian squad

Essendon captain Jobe Watson and veteran defender Dustin Fletcher have been recognised for solid individual performances this season with both players being named in the All-Australian 40-man squad last night. It is the first time Watson has been selected for the squad. Fletcher has previously been selected in 2000 and 2007. | |
