Zaharakis on track for a speedy recovery

Essendon midfielder David Zaharakis is on track to kick-start a full pre-season when the team return in November after making solid progress in his rehabilitation from a knee injury. The 21-year-old’s recovery from a strained medial ligament, sustained in the Club’s Round 20 loss to Collingwood, took a significant step forward today as Zaharakis commenced running drills at Windy Hill.



2011 fixture update

Essendon’s 2011 fixture will include two byes to enable a 22-game season to be completed across 24 weekends of football. The AFL yesterday announced that next year’s fixture will consist of 19 rounds of eight games and five rounds of seven games to accommodate the introduction of the Gold Coast Suns.

The event features a hilarious comedy debate between some of Australia's best-known comedians and sporting personalities including comedians Adam Rozenbachs, Denise Scott, Cal Wilson, Anthony 'Lehmo' Lehman and radio identity Tom Elliot, and moderated by Jane Clifton.

Essendon commences coach appointment process

Essendon Football Club today announced the process by which the Club’s next senior coach would be appointed. The Club has formed a selection panel consisting of Essendon’s CEO Ian Robson, General Manager of Football Operations Paul Hamilton and former player Scott Lucas.
