The Bombers’ bright future received an added boost today with young Essendon player Brent Stanton agreeing to a new three-year deal – a move which will ensure he is wearing the red and black until the end of the 2010 season.
At only 21 years of age and already with 70 games to his name,
“We are obviously very pleased to have secured someone of Brent’s calibre for the next three seasons,” Essendon chief operating officer, Travis Auld explained.
“Brent has made his presence felt in the Essendon midfield since joining the Bombers in 2003 and we think he has a significant role to play in the future success of the club.
“We are currently investing heavily in Essendon’s long-term success and are extremely excited that someone of Brent’s ability and character can be part of it.”
Essendon Football Club has also extended Jason Winderlich’s contract, which will see him call Windy Hill home until the end of the 2009 season.
“Jason has shown outstanding character both on and off the football field,” Mr Auld said.
“He is an extremely talented young man and will be part of a core group of players that will take this club places in the coming years.”
