Nathan Lovett-Murray has spoken exclusively to Bomber.tv, confirming he will contest charges laid against him for possession of a drug of dependence. Lovett-Murray was charged after police allegedly found a single ecstasy pill in his place of residence.
He was also charged with driving unlicenced after failing to renew his lisence after it expired in early July.
“The last couple of days have been really tough, but I’ll be contesting the charge at court and I want to let people know that I don’t take drugs,” Lovett-Murray said.
“I have been tested numerous times this year by the AFL, and I was tested two weeks ago, and I’m happy to take a urine or hair or blood sample to prove that I don’t take drugs.
“I want to thank the football club to still giving me the opportunity to train and play and I want to be able to repay them with some good performances.
“It is a legal matter, so I can’t say too much, but to my football club, my family, my friends, my teammates, all of the Essendon supporters, I’m really thankful for the support they’ve shown me,” he said.

Hi Nathan, your a great player and don't ever forget it.But in the meantime my son (Albi Giblett) is in Melbourne with the Pinjarra Football Academy W.A for 5 days and yesterday for there first outing was Essendon F.C to watch you all train and get his new Bombers Guernsy signed, they were told due to all the media that this would not be happening. He was still happy to be there but it was the highlight of the trip to see you all train. If any chance of yourself or any other Bombers player to pay him a visit at the Richmond Hill Hotel i am sure he would never forget it. Regards Michelle Giblett (A loving mother).
